The service must make improvements. Ward 1 also provides a Place of Safety bed, which supports people in severe crisis who have come into contact with the police. There are three wards in hosptal. The staff on the wards work closely with the Access team and the Acute Home Treatment Team, as well as with other therapy teams based within the hospital, to support people in their recovery. It is understood the youngster - who lived in North Staffordshire - had turned 18 just days before her death.

Harplands hospital

The Acute Home Treatment Team and staff from the community-based teams visit ocntact wards on a regular basis, to assist people in their discharge from hospital. Adults aged between 18 and 65 who have had an assessment which determines that they need inpatient psychiatric care. Requires improvement harplandw the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.

We can assess children who have a Mild Learning Disability.

Patients are admitted on a voluntary basis or on a Section of the Mental Health Act where this is deemed necessary. Good — the service is performing well and meeting harplannds expectations.
